who is bigmoose coffee co?
bigmoose coffee co is a coffee shop with a heart.
we employ, train and mentor people who’ve experienced homelessness and other disadvantaged people. we do a lot of work to help our team with their mental health including providing free counselling as well as having an open door policy so we are always available to chat and support.
we pay our team the real living wage and value every single one of them. we invest in them all, encouraging them to go on training to develop their skills and always supporting them in their personal lives and passion projects.
we have got a team of kind, compassionate, wonderful humans who care about one another and our guests. as you enter our shop you will feel this warmth from every team member, their big smiles will be there to greet you whether you’re in a group or riding solo, we would love to welcome you.

where are we?
we are based just off queen street on, frederick street.
we have outdoor seating as well as indoor and a quieter upstairs space.

bigmoose coffee
we really wanted our coffee to be super high quality and sourced ethically and kindly and so we were delighted when we discovered the work of carlos, in honduras. carlos’ farm is located in copan, on the slopes of honduras’ second highest mountain – erapuca. carlos believes he must protect the land for future generations and has made the brave step of running the farm in compliance with organic production rules and methods. carlos' coffee is now both rainforest alliance and organically certified.
once the coffee lands in the u.k our friends at manumit coffee then roast it for us. manumit are an awesome business that employ survivors of modern day slavery, so our values really align.
manumit then deliver the coffee to us in reusable tubs, so we can save on plastic waste.
sustainability
as a team we are also very passionate about our planet. we aim to be as sustainable and ethical as possible and we buy as much as we can locally and plastic free including all of our fresh produce.
we are also starting to grow some of our own produce too! we’re growing:
potatoes
spinach
onions
tomatoes and so much more!!!
